Accessibility Statement
Our commitment to making Care Partner Guides™ usable by everyone, and how to reach us if something isn't working for you.
Our Commitment
Care Partner Guides™ is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for Care Partners and patients of all abilities, including those using assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnification, or voice navigation. We are actively working to improve the usability and accessibility of this site for everyone.
Conformance Target
We aim to align this website with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities. This statement describes our ongoing efforts toward that standard, it is not a certification of full conformance.
What We've Done
Steps already reflected across the site include:
- Descriptive alt text on images so screen readers can convey what they show
- A consistent, logical heading structure on each page rather than headings used purely for visual styling
- An independent WCAG evaluation using WAVE, an accessibility testing tool, followed by corrections to the specific issues it identified, including insufficient color contrast on buttons and links, and testimonials that were visually styled to resemble headings without the correct semantic markup, now corrected to use proper quotation markup instead
- Layouts that adapt to phone, tablet, and desktop screens
- Link text that describes its destination rather than generic phrases like "click here"
Known Limitations
Accessibility is an ongoing process, not a one-time fix. Some pages, older content, or third-party embedded tools may not yet fully meet this standard. We're continuing to review and improve the site over time.
Feedback and Contact
If you encounter an accessibility barrier anywhere on this site, please let us know. We take reports seriously and will work to address the issue.
